Condom vending machine covers

To spruce up your campus’s condom dispenser(s), we’re providing a colourful poster in two formats for you to print and display.

Both formats feature clear instructions for how to put on a condom, as well as a QR code that links to our “Condom 101” page, which has tips and best practices. The larger format also features some great tips.

Printing instructions

Vinyl sticker printing

This version frames the condom dispenser in the colours of the Oh yesss campaign.

The file includes the crop marks the printer must follow.

Steps to follow

1. Download the vinyl sticker file.
2. Request a quote or print on self-adhesive vinyl with custom die-cutting. For installation, make sure to specify that the crop marks (inside and outside) are respected.
3. When applying the cover, make sure the machine's opening is perfectly centred on the vinyl to ensure a professional finish.

Printing a standard poster

If the space or your budget does not allow for vinyl installation, this version lets you print out the poster yourself so you can place it near the dispenser.

Steps

1. Download the poster file.
2. Print the poster on 11 x 17 inch paper at 100% (actual size).
3. Carefully cut out the condom shape to avoid a white outline.
4. Install the poster near the condom dispenser.

Placement instructions

As with posters that contain sensitive content, we recommend placing the condom vending machines in more intimate yet well-trafficked areas, like in restrooms and ‌locker rooms.

Postsecondary institutions that have already installed condom condom vending machines can attest that gender-neutral or single-occupancy restrooms are ideal spots for students who may feel uncomfortable taking a condom in front of others.

Installing condom vending machine near hand dryers means students can properly read the posters while drying their hands.

If applicable, it’s also a good idea to place the machines in student residences so that they are accessible any time, day or night. You can also install them in student services or in nursing offices.

Checklist for replenishing condom vending machines

To ensure that the condom vending machines are always well-stocked, we suggest leaving a note in your office or setting a reminder in your calendar to take inventory weekly. This way, you’ll get a better sense of how often you need to restock.

Checking your supplies will also help you decide whether the condom vending machine is well-located. If the condom machine empties quickly, then it’s in the right spot! But if it’s always full, it might mean that it’s in an inconvenient location. If that’s the case, consider placing it elsewhere.

Storing condoms

Here are a few tips on storing condoms properly before stocking the condom vending machines:

1. Store them in a dry place at room temperature, away from sunlight or direct light, as heat can damage the latex and reduce its effectiveness.
2. Double-check its expiration date before restocking the vending machine.
