Good move #6

I bought condoms, even though I blushed the whole time

Add protection to your cart

Let's face it: buying condoms can be an uncomfortable experience. Looking around the pharmacy, waiting for the aisle to clear, discreetly slipping the box onto the counter... if this sounds familiar, then you’re not alone.

The awkwardness often stems from the taboos that still surround sexuality, especially when it comes to using protection.

But there's nothing embarrassing about wanting to protect yourself (and others). It's actually a sign of maturity and shows respect for yourself and your partners.

So, if you've dared to buy condoms despite feeling a little uncomfortable, this is something to celebrate! The more we normalize this act, the easier it will be for everyone!

Tip #4

Try changing your mindset

Instead of thinking about buying condoms as something to be shy about, consider it a step toward better health.

Just like buying soap, a toothbrush, or deodorant, it’s a useful tool for taking care of yourself. If anything, you should feel proud!

Tip #2

Go to a shop you don’t visit as often

Want to be incognito or avoid running into your neighbor buying toilet paper?

Go to a store a little further away from home or one you rarely visit instead.

Sometimes, a change of scenery helps take the pressure off!

Tip #3

Choose the best option for you

Do you find it difficult to buy condoms at the store? There are several other options!

You can:

  1. Find some for free at CEGEPs, CLSCs, or youth clinics
  2. Order them online and have them delivered discreetly to your home
  3. Add them to your order when you buy other things

And, if you buy them at the pharmacy, you can also encourage yourself to make the moment… totally ordinary! Pick out the ones you want, go to the cash register, and voila! They're just condoms, after all.
