Good move #17

It burned when I pee, but instead of turning to TikTok for answers, I booked an appointment with my doctor

Book a doctor’s appointment instead of doing your own research

A quick lesson in algorithms: the images that appear first on TikTok or Google are the ones that have gotten the most clicks. And these are often the most shocking images, and not the most realistic.

Avoid unnecessary panic and take the direct route to real answers (and treatment, if needed) by making an appointment for a medical exam instead!

Tip #1

Use the Club Sexu search tool

Consult our directory to find the clinic that best fits your needs:

Tip #2

Book a medical appointment, and not a screening

If you think you have symptoms of an STBBI, don’t make an appointment for a screening. Instead, book a medical appointment with a doctor who can then examine you, make a diagnosis, and prescribe the necessary treatment.

Screening is used to detect STBBIs that have no apparent symptoms.

Tip #3

Keep your questions for the pros

The internet is a valuable source of information, and we understand your instinct to turn to it.

However, having access to a wealth of information doesn’t make it reliable. Shocking or sensationalist content is often promoted to drive clicks, not to inform people.

If something intrigues you or causes doubt, take note of questions and discuss them with a healthcare professional at your next appointment.
