If a friend confides in you that they tested positive for an STBBI, you might feel surprised, be unsure of how to reply, or worry about saying the wrong thing. You don't have to give the perfect answer!
What the person needs most in that moment is support, not judgment or moralizing. Listen to them without overreacting. Ask them questions, take them out for a coffee, and give them a hug or just… a little treat, a piece of candy. A little comfort always makes things better.
